Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited is a leading “Navratna” Public Sector Enterprise engaged in Refining, Distribution and Marketing of Petroleum Products. HPCL invites invites application for the position of Officer Trainees and welcomes bright, young & dynamic Engineering and Management Graduates to join HPCL team of world class professionals :

1A. Officer Trainee - Engineering Disciplines, 161 Posts (UR-78, SC-24, ST-12, OBC-NC-43, PWD-04)

1B. Officer Trainee - Engineering Disciplines, 39 Posts (SC, ST, OBC-NC Backlog) (SC-13, ST-22, OBC-NC-04)

Qualifications :

  • Full time Graduates in Engineering/ Technology in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Instrumentation and Mechanical Disciplines from AICTE approved/ UGC recognized institute/ university.
  • Candidates possessing Engineering/ Technology Degree in the above mentioned disciplines (Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Instrumentation and Mechanical) from AICTE approved / UGC recognized institute / university can apply online against the respective discipline.
  • Candidates possessing Combination Degrees (eg. Electrical & Electronics on Instrumentation & Control etc.) in Engineering / Technology in th disciplines related to the above mentioned disciplines (Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Instrumentation and Mechanical) should apply under the "Others" option available in the online application form, provided that the Degree/ qualification should specify the same. Eg. "Electrical & Electronics" has "ELectrical" discipline as specified in the core disciplines above.

Important Note : (Officer Trainee - Engineering Disciplines), The candidates who apply against "Others" discipline will be given an option to select any one of the six disciplines mentioned above for which he/she intends to take the written test question paper. HPCL shall conduct written test for all the eligible candidates, the test paper will be only for the disciplines mentioned under "Qualification" above. Candidates with Combination Degree who apply against "Others" discipline will take written test for one of subject/ discipline selected by him/ her in the online application form.

Candidates possessing Degrees other than above mentioned core degrees or combination degrees, will not be considered.

Age limit : 25 years as on 20th October, 2010.

2. Officer Trainee - Fire and Safety, 2 posts.

Qualification :

  • Full time graduates in Engineering/ Technology (BE/ B.Tech) in Fire & Safety discipline from AICTE approved / UGC recognized institute university.

Age limit : 25 years as on 20th October, 2010.

3A. Officer Trainee - Human Resources, 11 posts (UR-8, SC-1, OBC-NC-2)

3B. Officer Trainee - Human Resources (Welfare) , 2 posts

Qualification :

  • Two year full time , Post graduate course with specialization in HR, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations form AICTE approved / UGC recognized institute university.
  • Two year full time , Post graduate course with specialization in HR, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations form AICTE approved / UGC recognized institute university, covering Labour Welfare as a special subject. Other candidates as per The AP Factories Rules, 1950 for appointment of welfare officer shall also apply.

Age limit : 27 years as on 20th October, 2010.

Note : Candidates scoring minimum 60% in aggregate of all the semesters (for SC/ST minimum 50%), in the qualifying graduate/ Post graduate degree (as applicable) are only eligible to apply.
Candidates completing their qualifying graduate / post graduate degree (as applicable) by September 2010 can also apply.

Selection Methodology :
Candidates fulfilling of the above criteria for respective positions will be eligible for appearing for Written Test (Objective type comprising of two parts. I General Aptitude consisting of Intellectual Potential test, Quantitative Aptitude test & test of English Language, II. Technical/ Professional knowledge comprising of questions related to Qualifying degree/ Educational background required for the position applied for). Candidates will be called for the Personnel Interview in order of their merit in the Written Test as per the policy of the Corporation.

Stipend :
During the training, the Trainees will get Rs.33000/- per month as stipend and after successful completion of training, they will be absorb in the pay scale Rs.24900-50500. (CTC Rs.8 Lac per annum approx.)

Fee : Rs.535/- (no fee from SC/ST/PH candidates) to be deposited in the SBI through Challan in HPCL Powerjyoti A/c No. 31178 245256 or can be deposited online by Debit/ Credit Cards.

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) invites applications for the posts of Management Trainees (Technical) (450 seats) and Management Trainees (Administration) (75 seats) in E-1 grade from young, energetic, result oriented and promising talent in the country.

Eligibility :
Upper Age : 30 years as on 1.9.2010, i.e., not born earlier than 1.9.1980

The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and by 3 years for OBC candidates and by 10 years for Physically Handicapped candidates). Those domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir from 1/1/80 to 31/12/89 will be allowed by 5 years relaxation in upper age limit. For departmental candidates the upper age limit shall be 45 years.

Minimum Qualification :
Management Trainees (Technical) :-

Degree in Engg. (full time)/MCA (3 years full time) with 65% marks (average of all semesters), in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, Civil, E&T, Instrumentation, Ceramics, Chemical, Computer Science, Mining, Fire or Safety Engineering

Management Trainees (Administration):-
For HR, Materials and Marketing :

Bachelors’ degree in any discipline with 60% marks with at least two years full time MBA/PG Diploma in management with 60% marks in HR/PM&IR/Pers /MHROD for HR, Production/ Operations/ Materials Mgmt. for Materials and Marketing for Marketing disciplines.
For MT -Finance : CA/ICWA

Qualification
For MT (Tech) :
The SC/ST/PWD and Departmental Candidates having Engineering Degree in the required disciplines with 55% marks shall be eligible to apply

For MT (Admn.) : The SC/ST/PWD and Departmental Candidates having Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks and MBA/PG Diploma in Management in the relevant discipline with 50% shall be eligible to apply against HR, Marketing and Materials disciplines.

For MT (Tech) post, candidates having degree in related disciplines as given below can apply against the respective discipline:

Suitable relaxation in height and weight will be given to female candidates

For MT (Admin) :- Should be of sound physique, free from any physical defect. Medical standards stipulate minimum requirements of Weight 45 kg; Height 155 cm; Myopia and Hypermetropia, if any, not to exceed ± 6.00 in each eye. Suitable relaxation in height and weight will be given to female candidates.

Selection :-
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for a Written Examination, information for which will be provided in the Admit card. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the Written Test will be intimated to appear for Group Discussion/ Interview.

Written Test :-
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for objective type written test in at any one of the centres at Agartala, Allahabad, Bangalore, Baroda, Bhilai, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Bokaro, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Durgapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Ranchi, Rourkela, Salem, Trichy, Vijaywada and Visakhapatnam.

In the written test, there will be negative marking for wrong answers, i.e. 1/4th of the allotted marks for the question will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The written test for both the above mentioned posts will be held on the same day as per the following schedule :
i) For MT(Technical) - In the Forenoon session
ii) For MT(Administration) - In the Afternoon session

Group Discussion/ Interview :-
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the written test will be intimated to appear for Group Discussion/Interview, which may be held at short notice.

Training & Probation :-
Candidates selected as Management Trainees will be placed on training for one year. The Management Trainees (Technical) will be registered as Apprentices under the provisions of Apprentices Act, 1961. After successful completion of training, the candidates shall be placed under probation for one year.

Emoluments :
The Management Trainees will be offered Basic Pay of Rs.20,600/- p.m. in the pay scale of Rs.20600-3%-46500 (E-1). On successful completion of training the Management Trainees will be designated as Junior Managers in the same scale of pay.

Eligible and interested candidates would be required to apply online only through SAIL’s website:www.sail.co.in from 28/09/2010 to 25/10/2010. No other means/mode of application shall be accepted.
Before registering their applications on the website the candidates should possess the following:

  • a) Valid e-mail ID, which should remain valid for atleast one year.
  • b) Pay in Slip for Rs.500/- as examination fee for General and OBC Candidates. Rs.100/- as processing fee for SC/ST/ PH/Departmental candidates. The Pay-in-Slip is to be downloaded from the website after filling in the required details.
  • c) Candidates should have latest passport size photograph as well as photograph of signatures in digital format (.jpg or jpeg file only, of less than 500 kb size) for uploading with the application form.
  • d) Candidates applying for both MT (Tech.) and MT (Admn.) should register separately with application /processing fee.

After applying online, candidate is required to download the system generated Registration Slip with unique registration number and other essential details.
